Sometimes it’s hard to slow down and appreciate things in life. Constantly connected, we go from one thing to another until often times we are too tired to make good decisions like eating a healthy dinner or going to bed in time to get a full seven or eight hours of sleep. God’s Word gives us some advice and perspective:
Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
Psalms 46:10 NKJV
First of all, this verse commands us to be still. How long has it been since you got still and pondered your place in God’s plan? Once you do that, you will realize you’re on the winning team!
Secondly, this verse tells us how the story ends. No matter what the world looks like today, God WILL be exalted in the end.
The things you are rushing to and fro about, are they things that are central to God’s plan for your life, and will they matter at the end of your life? When you look back on your time on Earth, will those things you stress about now even matter then?
I encourage you to take some time today and make sure you are majoring on the major things in your life. Ask God about it, and find scripture you can stand on about those things.
Let me know your thoughts on this in the comments below. I would love to hear about how this has changed your view or how you might handle things differently.
